What's a CMS and why do I need one?

A static website, containing content built with HTML code, can only be updated by trained web developers.

In contrast, a CMS(Content Management System) is a web-based database that allows regular users and administrators to manage the organisation, categorisation and structure of content contained in the website without software and programming experience.
